Backup System
East & West Robotics uses a
unique Back Up system to ensure “Fail Safe” operations of all its systems as a
standard feature and represented as follows:
1)
Robotically Controlled Auto substitution of failed parts or assemblies.
2)
All
motor systems with dual physical drives, each capable to handling the task by
itself.
3)
All
mechanical drives in dual format, each capable to handling the task by itself.
4)
All
replaceable parts in multiple quantities installed within the system for quick
and immediate replacement, making the need for a spare part inventory,
redundant.
As it can be seen from the
above, all active replaceable parts and assemblies are fitted with the exact
duplicate both linked to the operated member in tandem. In the event of failure
of any part or subassembly, the Control Center automatically shuts down the
defective part and activates its duplicate partner and issues a warning report
to the maintenance personnel of the failure, which can be attended to at the
convenience of the maintenance personnel. These features are available for
motors, speed controllers, limit switches, contactors, relays and cables.
In most of the critical
areas which can cause free operation of the RobotPark, even the mechanical
assemblies have duplicate partners. These too are designed to take the entire
load of the respective operation singly in case of a failure.
5) Power Supply. All
industrial PCs and PLCs are equipped with independent UPS (Uninterrupted Power
Supply) in order to save general data and probable loss of any communication
link.
6)
Data Backup. Every
action taking place anywhere within the system will be recorded on a hard drive
as log records as well as independent “last instruction” sets and find status
files for maximum protection.
7)
Manual Backup.
Every section can be isolated
from the rest of the other operational equipment and be maintained respectively.
During a scheduled
maintenance, it is not required to shut down the full system but merely section
by section and allowing the RobotPark to operate normally.
